Is it possible to have the different layers of a wall show up while not cutting through the wall? I'm currently working on an ICF wall, and want to be able to see the faces of the concrete as well as the face of the form.
And is there a way to set it so that I can see wall layers on a coarse view? My drawings are usually set o Coarse so that beams display as centrelines but I'd still like to see wall layers too.
Cheers :)

Set the Detail Level for your beams to Coarse so the rest can stay determined by View and go up to Medium/Fine.
I can't find a way to show the Wall Layers in an elevation, not sure if that is what you were asking.
Here's a picture of the setting in VG I think you should change so Wall layers shoe up while keeping Beams shown as centerlines:

Thanks Duncan, I'll play around with that.
I should have been more specific about the walls, this is all in plan view. What we do for our shop drawings is show the walls on the floor below up to the floor level, and don't include the walls on the current level. I'd like o see the layers of the wall I'm looking down on.

With walls that might be tricky, I've got it to work, see my attached project file (RVT2014). But there are some snags with things showing up not because your cut plane hits then but because my bottom plane is low enough. Also I can see it depends on whether the wall has an associated height or not (!). The authoritative video explaining how this is works is one by Paul Aubin, you can watch it here: http://www.screencast.com/t/eCJaIgaevE

I hadn't thought of a negative cut plane. Thanks!
