Is it possible to change the line weight of a "hatch" pattern?

Yes, select the pattern, Edit properties, change lineweight.

However, this is only for "Fill" patterns. You cannot change the line weight of surface and cut patterns used for materials at present.

how do you change the line weight of fill pattern too? i tried editing it, but couldnt figure out where to change the line weight.
can anyone help please?

If you go to the properties of a filled region, underneath where you specify the fill pattern and Opaque or Transparent, there is a line weight parameter.

Surface iof material and cut patterns is controled by Pen 1. I know fims that have set this explicitly for fill and then use Pen 2 - 16 to control all other objects.
