I had to create a kind of wall to my model that contains 3 layers of substrate + Finish. Now I need to export that model to dwg, but in my plan I don't want to export the substrate lines, just the wall structure and Finish.

Does anybody knows a way to setup the export to don't export some subcategories?

Thanks.:)

Split the walls to parts, and create filter for material or construction.

Not in front of Revit at the moment but I'm pretty sure you can export the subcategories (finish, substrate, structure, etc) as individual layers. Do this then open the resulting DWG and dump those layers.

Parts will work but I don't think you're going to like the workflow in the long run.

Greg's right, under the export settings you can assign a different layer for all layers

I did that. When I opened the DWG, I isolated the layers to exclude. But would be easier if thereĀ“s a way that you don't have to export. In a big project, like a airport for example, it would be a lot of extra working.

If the project is that big you might consider scripting the layer removal process. Since all the layer names will be the same, and unique if you do it right, this should be doable. You could probably even set up a BAT of something similar to process an entire folder.
