Topography Control points

Hi,
I am working on a project where the topography control points are in a matrix. I am used to them being aligned to individual topo lines. But in this model they form a perfect matrix. If i move one point it move all those around it as well. Any insight appreciated. I have written to the model originator to see how the surface was created initially - haven't heard back.

This is how certain classes of surveys are completed (other classes of surveys will have more elevation points, points at objects or various other site elements). They go out to a site and measure the elevation along a grid of points, and then they generally use some program like Civil 3D etc. to interpolate and generate the contour lines. This is the same thing Revit does. In reality it's more accurate, in my opinion, to start with the actual points (the matrix in your case) than to try to force Revit's toposurface to follow the contour lines that were generated by some other program.
