I'm trying to create an exterior panorama view. The following is from the HELP FILE:
Install a viewer. A viewer can be downloaded by searching the web.
Render a scene. The type of rendering has to be either Cylindrical or Spherical to capture a pan file. For more information about these rendering types, see the Raytracing Procedure.
Click Export Image on the Rendering tab of the Design Bar or select Export Image from the View, Rendering menu.
Select Panorama (*.pan) from the Save File Type drop-down list.
Click Save.
Open the file using one of the viewers loaded in step one.
When I place the camera on an exterior corner the resulting panorama file is of the camera turning 180 deg and not the model spinning 180 deg in front of the camera.
How do you make an exterior panorama view?

You want the camera to spin around the model as if the model was on a turn table?
Unless I've totaly missed something, Revit does not create this type of panoramic file.

Panoramic cameras are always stationary. Imagine standing in one spot, only able to spin 360 and look up/down and side to side.
If you want to walk around a bulding, set up a walkthrough, and define the path around your building with the key frames facing the building and then export to AVI.

So the .ivr and pan files using cylindrical or spherical type renderings would be primarily used for interior and campus views?

Not at all. They can be excellent for external renderings too. Have a look at this thread....

I think that is what is being referred to by 'Campus Views' Max.

Doh! Must get more familiar with the lingo.
So what would constitute an external view over a campus view?

An external view would be a stationary camera with its view target in the center of the model. When rendered and saved as a .pan file, the result would be the model spinning in front of the camera. i.e. The model is the center of the cylindrical or sphere instead of the camera. Similar to a walk through but more interactive. An example is being able to zoom in/out.

Hi,
I've created a few of these now and they are dead-easy!
The result can be described as a reverse of a walkthrough i.e. instead of the viewing camera moving, it is located at one point, however when the result is viewed, the user can look all around.....(a goldfish-in-a-bowl scenario?).
The biggest trick was to locate a working viewer to download. There are threads about that in here, and the ones I've used are all free downloads....(free is good!)
