Hi all,

We have been trying to sort a technical issue with revit.

Background:

The project start off with tradition brick wall construction, 100mm inner block, 100mm cavity, and 100mm facing brick. The wraps with this make-up work well and we had a few small issues here and there but they were tolerable. However due to recent input from our structural team we have been advised to have a 215mm inner block leaf to to roof structural support for beams.

When we try out settings to try get the wraps to work we come to no avail, and the images attached is how it looks. It looks like it is trying to wrap at the inserts (walls - windows etc) i.e. blockwork wrapping to close cavity.

Has anyone got any suggestions to help us out with this issue? We have attached our settings below, and have changed the wrap exterior etc...

We have read that sometimes these characteristics i.e. openings of doors and windows may be determined by the family itself (window/door)

Can anyone help?

Thanks so much :)
Keith

I think you need to adjust your window family. This might explain what I mean:

Also, why are you wrapping the structure? I'd think it should be between the Core Boundaries and not wrap, just the finish wraps. This is what I'm thinking (and I like this website a lot):

Hi there,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Following the instructions in your first link was helpful to a degree. Adding the check box within the window family (checking wall closure on reference lins either side of the window) this worked but only for one side of the opening only? i.e. wraps perfectly on the left side, but doesnt wrap what soever on the other side? I have ensured settings in the project are also set to wrap that structural element.

Have you got any other ideas?
We don't want to revert to detailing each and every page where floor plans are seen in order to fix this issue / or add a closure detail element to each opening family.

Thanks
Keith

96318Hi Keith, the only way to that in all the openings is modifying the windows and doors families openings according to thickness of the different layer that wrap up in the window or door. See attached image. We have modified all our families for this porpoise.

Thanks, I hope this will be helpful. Alex
