Is there a way to get a railing to extend to the floor level at the bottom of the stair and not the lowest tread? I know how to get the top rail to do this but I have a railing with horizontal rails and I'd like to have everything - top rail and intermediate rails - to extend one tread length to hit the floor level.

Thanks in advance.

Also, not sure how much this makes a difference but the stair is circular in shape (not spiral, but circular in plan) with a mid-level landing and just adding an extra tread length to the railing sketch does not work.

Attached is the stair - I'd like the railing to extend down to the lowest level just like it does at the landing.

Extend the path of the stair rail one more tread (or whatever you need) and sketch another path (Center-ends Arc) and set the slope to flat.

Thanks for the tip but I already tried that and it doesn't work. I get an error and the railing at the landing gets all screwed up.

Set the slope to flat for the landing rail.

It works for me, here is the file. 96281

I'm not sure what you've done differently but when I try to do the same thing I get an error that says "the slope of this railing may not parallel the stair runs and landings. to get a parallel railing, split the railing sketch at the ends of landings" and the landing railing gets screwed up. See attached.

You didn't set the landing rail slope to flat. It's still set to 'by host'.

That worked! Thank you!
