Copy existing ground profile problem

I think I might just be missing something so here it goes. I copy my existing ground profile by changing it temporarily to static. I can then lower the copy using the raise/lower pvi's. I then set the original existing ground profile back to dynamic. The profile that was copied and lowered is stays at static. Everything is fine until I save the drawing, close it, then re-open it. The copied/lowered profile is no longer lowered but back on top of the existing ground profile. Nothing I have read on blogs or discussion groups has mentioned having this problem.

I'm missing something .... _Why would one want to copy and lower/raise an existing grade profile?????

It does not behave like this in C3D 2015. The copied, static profile remains in its position after a save, close, and reopen.
