This is confusing! I installed Update Release 3 when it came out in June, and now (as of 9/17) they've come out with Release 2? And get this: "This update requires either the initial release of Autodesk Revit 2015 (build: 20140223_1515) or Autodesk Revit 2015 Update Release 3 (build: 20140606_1530) . Autodesk Revit 2015 Update Release 3 will need to be applied to any installed Revit 2015 which has either Autodesk Revit 2015 Update Release 1 (build: 20140322_1515) or Autodesk Revit 2015 Update Release 2 (build: 20140323_1530) applied. Installation will also be blocked if Autodesk Revit 2015 Update Release 4 (build: 20140903_1530)) has been applied, a full uninstall followed by a new install of Autodesk Revit 2015 will be needed in order to apply Release 2." Sheesh!

Is this rhetorical? :)

The previous are web updates (patches) while this (2015 R2) is what you might also call a 2015.1 release (a "point" release).

Yes, Steve, it was somewhat rhetorical. I thought this might be a "point" release, but I do think Autodesk should differentiate better between maintenance patches (which I guess they're calling "updates") and interim releases. Was there a Revit 2015 R1? Does "R" stand for release or revision?

There is Revit 2015 and Revit 2015 R2. R1 was the original release which has had three web updates. Just to confuse you further after installing R2 you'll find your build says it is Update 4. ;)

It probably would have been better to call it Revit 2015.1 but I'm sure that a lawyer would chime in to tell us that they couldn't do that because then accounting would have to acknowledge receipt of income from a "new" product versus an "update" to an existing product. :)

True, I agree!
