So I am just starting to get back into revit. Its been about 5 years since i last used on a regular basis so i am quite rusty. Office is using 2012. Need to figure out best way to model the bulbous items on the elevation in the picture attached. Any ideas?

Laser scan the facade? Might be a little more costly but it would be WAY more accurate and you would get all the details. We've used laser scanning at our firm for an existing building and were able to link the Revit file that we got from the scanning consultant into Revit really well.

Hope this helps,
T

Great idea but definitely not in the budget......I'm looking more simple. The bulbs.....how would I make them in Revit. I was thinking a mass in place but can't figure out how to make a sphere.

You would use a revolve with an arc in the profile. Might as well make it as a face-based family, rather than in-place since there's more than one.

is this for a Client Presentation or CDs. If for client, use a revolve and map a texture, otherwise, just use a sphere

Don't use a mass. Create it as a face based Generic Model (I'd suggest a separate sub-category under GM for more control).
As others have suggested, a simple revolve and mapping texture is easiest.
BTW, you might want to check out Recap 360 as a poor man's laser scan. http://www.autodesk.com/products/recap/features/photo-recap-360/all/gallery-view
