sloped valley beam

I would like to place a beam at the valley angle (slope) of the roof system. not sure of the most efficient way of doing so.

Place a ref plane at the valley line.
Draw a beam along the valley line, and offset the start and end elevations.
Other option is to go to an elevation set the work plane to the ref plane and draw a brace.
