Moving DWG Objects

Why can't I move a DWG imported object in the Z direction? The only way I have found to work through this is to create a new level and manually place the DWG on that level. I can move the object in the x and y direction just fine. Is there another way to do this? It isn't a big problem but it does add a few extra steps.

whe you import a dwg, unless you select the "Current view only" option, then and the right side of the window you can select what level you want to place it on.
once placed, it cannot be moved in the z direction... at least not that I know of..

DWGs are imported on whatever the active workplane is so if you want something on and elevation surface make the elevation surface the workplane then import. I'm not sure if you can move, try copy disjoin, that might let you.
