View Full Version : Plot on HP LaserJet 11x17 without error.

Wish List System
2014-11-14, 01:01 AM
Summary: For many releases, AutoCAD will not plot on 11x17 paper on our HP LaserJet 5200.

Description: We are using a LaserJet 5200 as a 'system printer' on our network, with PCL6 drivers. And in order to print, I have to make a "custom" 11x17 paper size, then walk to the other end of our building to manually select the paper tray.

C'mon! This has been on discussion threads for years - why is it not fixed??!!

I've been printing 11x17 to HP Laserjets for years without the problems you describe.

For my information, how do these forum threads get started?

Now, back to the topic here, this is not a "wish". Even *if* there was an issue with printing to an HP printer in 11x17 size, this is still not a *wish*.
If this was a real issue, it should be reported to Autodesk through the proper channels, such as subscription support or the feedback page.

IMO - Wishes are for new features and functionality that does not exist in the program.

Lastly, I agree with cadtag. There is no global issue with printing to HP laserjets on 11x17 paper. We've been doing it for years also.

The user inputs the wish in the main site, and a connector from the wishlist system feeds it over here to the forum side. You'd have to ask Rick McNeil for any additional process information, cause I'm clueless.

Not because I don't want to ask someone else, but from the description above, it sounds like there is no filter (human or otherwise) between the two?
The reason I ask is that I'm starting to see a lot of bizarre "wishes".

If this thread had been placed in another forum it would have been moved to the AutoCAD Plotting forum by now. I guess moving something out of the wish lists is trickier. I think the process should involve asking for help on an appropriate forum first and if the problem cannot be resolved then request the wish.

As I said, I don't know what the process is... Rick does. Do not take my statement to mean anything other than precisely what I said.

Yes, the threads made in this system by the wishlist forum can be locked by the wishlist system side, so, they're not moved by mods as the other forum posts are.
