Class Description: You know that you could make your CAD environment run better if you could only take the time needed to do it, but your boss would rather have you working on production tasks. Does this scenario sound familiar? If so, you haven’t made the compelling case for customization that will make management actually want to approve customization. In this session we’ll use a variety of case studies that show what customization can do, how much time it takes and how you can economically justify the time it takes to senior management. In each case, we’ll examine the cost savings potential, quantify the benefit to the company and compute a basic return on investment for the customization project. As the case studies move from simple to complex, we’ll cover labor savings, training time, software purchases, multiyear payback scenarios, and staff headcount savings to give you a complete idea of how customization can work for your company. Along the way you’ll receive valuable tips on how to present your findings to your senior management staff so they’ll approve your ideas and maybe even give you a raise! If you’ve wanted to embark on customizing your CAD environment but have never been able to get the approval, you’ll benefit tremendously from this class.
