Can anyone clearly explain the process of creating a custom curtain wall mullion.
I'm trying to create a plasterboard metal stud wall as a curtain wall. I opened a new Metric Profile-Mullion family and proceeded to fairly detailed metal C stud profile to use as mullion:

When i tried to load it to the project I got this message:

So I started again with a new Metric Profile - Mullion family and inserted a C stud form the Profiles folder in the library. This worked OK but when i loaded it to the project it ended up in Profiles and not Curtain Wall Mullions.

Be very grateful if someone could explain what i'm doing wrong in both instances....

You create a Mullion profile that you then assign to a Rectangular profile.

I have found when I get the message that it contains no loops it usually means one of two things, either two of my lines are not connected or I have a line drawn in twice or randomly out in space.

I start with a profile mullion, create an outline of the mullion only, save and insert into project . It should come in under profiles in Families. Go to Curtain wall mullions in families and click the plus. Right click on Rectangular mullion and new type. Rename this then double click it. Under profile scroll to the family you inserted. Now when you go to place a mullion it will be a choice in your drop down box.
This works as long as I want the mullion to be placed on the curtain grid. I have created a few parapets that I created as "face based" when the curtain grid isn't how I want to determine my placement.
