View Full Version : AUTO DESK 2005 SCHEDULES

FUSS

DRAWING FORMAT:
CONSTRUCT: FLOOR PLAN
VIEW: FLOOR PLAN W/ SPACE BOUNDARIES / ROOM TAGS / DOOR TAGS.
SHEET: INSERTED SCHEDULES VIA X-REFERENCING THE VIEW DRAWING.

IN GENERATING ROOM SCHEDULES:
I OBTAIN THE ROOM NUMBER W/ THE PREFIX N/A INSTEAD OF THE CORRECT FLOOR LEVEL.
I VERIFIED UNDER THE PROJECT HEADING THAT I HAVE THE FLOOR LEVELS IDENTIFIED (SAY FOR INSTANCE LEVELS 1 AND 2).
ALSO WHEN I CREATE THE SPECIFIC VIEWS THE LEVEL DESIGNATIONS ARE PRESENT AND LISTED CORRECTLY FOR THE SPECIFIC FLOOR PLAN.

IN GENERATING DOOR SCHEDULES:
1. IS THERE A WAY TO HAVE THE DOOR TAG REFLECTED THE ROOM NUMBER IT GOES W/ RATHER THAN THE HALLWAY WHEN THE DOOR SWINGS OUT OF THE ROOM; THEREBY ELIMINATING THE TAGS W/ "A" / "B" / "C" SUFFIX.
2. IN UPDATING THE DOOR SCHEDULE THE NUMBERS NEVER MATCH THE TAGS THAT SHOW UP IN THE VIEW DRAWING.
I HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE DOOR TAGS MATCH THE DOORS IN BOTH THE CONSTRUCT DRAWING AND THE VIEW DRAWING; BUT THE SCHEDULE ITSELF ALWAYS HAVE A DIFFERENT TAG NUMBER FOR THE DOORS.
THE TAGS ARE EITHER DUPLICATE NUMBERS AND/OR DO NOT SHOW THE SUFFIX.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

Hi Robert

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the New Users (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47) Forum to this one as I believe it would be better served here. I have assumed (a bad thing to do) you are referring to ADT 2005, if that is not the case please let me know, I will then happily move this thread to its correct location.

Below snippet is taken from the small print found on the Forum General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44) page ( Click HERE (http://forums.augi.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=28398) to see a screen capture )...

ps For future reference, it's best not to post a message using all Caps Lock ie. UPPERCASE as it makes it look like you are shouting....

Would you be able to post an example of the drawing for us to mess with? There are a lot of variables involved with what you are asking.

Thanks

clraification:

I think you mean "created" schedules on sheets, not inserted. Inserted makes me think of an Xref.
Also, what about Areas vs. Spaces. Do you have any use for Areas?

finally:
Thank you very much for posting. The scheduling question has been bothering me for weeks now. Your post summarizing tasks and sequences is exactly what I was looking for.

I HAVE BEEN USING THE SPACE BOUNDARY FEATURE TO GENERATE THE ROOM LABELS, I HAVE NOT USED THE AREA FEATURE.

YOU ARE CORRECT W/ REGARDS TO GENERATING THE SCHEDULE.
BUT THE SCHEDULE IS BEING GENERATED BY X-REF THE PLAN.
AS SUCH I CAN NOT PHYSICALLY EDIT THE SCHEDULE. I HAVE TO EDIT THE SPACES / DOORS DIRECTLY.

ditto that. There is duplication of property set data which makes Areas limited and redundant.

Thanks again.

Question #1: IS YOUR CAPS LOCK BUTTON STUCK IN THE ON POSITION??? If so, please ask for a new keyboard which allows you to toggle that on & off.

Question #2: Would you please give more description as to the problem you are having with schedules? It is unclear to me exactly what is happening.

In response to generating door schedules (item #1), you want to make sure that the property data location for the door is in the space you want to associate the door with. (this looks like a little star when you select your door)
As for item #2, make sure that your space that you have created contains the correct property data for the door & tag to reference. That could be where you are having problems.

THANKS

I DID NOT REALIZE THAT THE "STAR" NODE ALLOWED YOU TO PICK THE ROOM SIDE FOR THE DOOR.

I DID DOWN LOAD THE SERVICE PAK 1 FOR AUTODESK WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM W/ THE DOOR SCHEDULES HOWEVER I STILL GET MULTIPLE TAGS IN THE DOOR SCHEDULE FOR THE SAME DOOR. ALSO I DO NT GET THE SUFFIX "A AND B" IE: 101A /101B TO SHOW UP IN THE SCHEDULE. THE PROPERTY DEFINITION FOR THE SPACE TAG AND DOOR TAGS ARE CORRECT HOWEVER.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK ON THE KEY BOARD.
REGARDLESS OF "ON OR OFF" I GET THE SAME RESULTS.
