Class Description: You’ve used out-of-the-box families in your project and created schedules using them, but you need more information for a more detailed schedule. You’ve read or heard that if you use shared parameters, you can schedule them and add more information into your model. So what are these shared parameters and are they different from other parameters? I will show you how to create shared parameters and add these to out-of-the-box families and new families. You’ll be able to add footing bar sizes and quantities to a family and they will show up in a schedule. A wood shear wall placed in the model can have a schedule with the stud and sheathing size along with fasteners and hold down types. Use live schedules instead of static schedules.
