I have Building system 2005 w/windows XP, P4 3.0, and 1 gig of ram.
I'm doing a 3d HVAC system and I'm spending about 30 to 45sec. down time between
comande. is this normal for bilding systems?

Hi
Please note I've *moved* this thread from the Software (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=117) Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.
Thanks, Mike

Hi
Is your install of ABS 2005 fully up to date with regards "Updates & Service Packs" -
Autodesk® Building Systems 2005 (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?siteID=123112&id=2334435&linkID=2476273#section100)
Example - ABS 2005 Service Pack 2 fixes a lot of stuff.
Have a good one, Mike

Also try running a disk degfragmentation. After putting a program of this size on your computer, it's a good thing to do - even if windows says you don't need to run it.

Yes, on large drawings it can be a nightmare to have supply, return, exhaust, and piping systems in the same file. I have found it necessary to break them up in the constructs tab under the different systems and simply xref'ing them as necessary to make modifications per system. It makes for more files and some more xref managing, but keeps the individual file sizes workable. Hope this helps.
