Can anyone tell me why the underside of a smooth monolithic stair would have a step in it
about half way up? wierd, the risers & treads seem ok but the underside has this wierd step in it.

That does look a bit odd... There are issues with monolithic stairs over a particular radius not showing smooth underside.
I'd try increasing the throat of the stair, it looks a bit on the thin side...

Hey there,
Agreed. The monolithic "automatic" steps are not acceptable for my drawings because of the bottom steps. I still do them the "old fashion" way. (Laughing here as I type this...I've only been using Revit since 5.1!)
Best of luck

Hello J,
The step will occur if you mess with the risers after creating the spiral run. I just tried it, I created the stair, deleted a riser and drew in a new riser. As if by magic I get the 'Autostep' "Feature".
If you had to manipulate the stair (in any way) after creation, try making the stair again in one 'graceful' operation.
