I'm posting this question on bahalf of my father who is using this version of ACAD on a Windpws XP PC which is OFF the grid completely.
He has suddenly begun to experience adverse behaviour with basic tasks like drawing lines, creating angles, etc. going whacky. Cannot even connect a horizontal line now between two vertical lines. Seems to have taken on a mind of it's own.
Seems that the program install is possibly corrupt.
When I looked at attempting a "repair" of the app in "Add/Remove" programs, and select ACAD, it presents the Change/Remove option. However, the next step does NOT provide an option to "repair" explicitly. Rather, it asks if I am sure that I want to completely uninstall the app. In researching rapairing the app in FAQ's in the Autodesk support area, I found this article: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Recommended-uninstall-and-reinstall-procedures.html. The repair procedure states that this can be done, but I'm NOT wanting to accidentally uninstall the app if at all possible.
Does anyone know if one can in fact "repair" the installation in XP throuth add/remove programs even though it doesn't provide a "repair" option per se? If not, can an "in place" repair be performed by running setup from the media with the existing install? He's concerned about losing his program configs, preferences, and such. Sure would appreciate any insight to this dilema.
