Summary: Lines are very primitive in the way they are created and have no intelligence when placed in a drawing.

Description: Acad uses technology based on 1980's ascii files for creating lines and has to rely on a set of variables that have to be precisely tuned from one office to another. Based on those variables, lines can have separation breaks (such as a dashed line) based on a users whims or artistic desire. This is not good for office standards. Another example is the lack of standards or ability to draft fire walls that are easily seen on short and/or long walls. Current methods for drafting these wall types is almost impossible with current technology. If we could have ability to include a block in the line, define line separations as well as thickness, that is part of the core system so legacy issues will not be a worry.

Move acad into next decade with ability to create versatile lines that will be stared in a drawing, that utilizes the aspects of multiline, spiline, polyline (with curved corners) and goes beyond shortcoming of ltscale. In other words, a line which has inclusions of these and other factors that make lines look the way the author intended them to look regardless of where they are viewed. Of course these lines should have ability to be shaded plotting characteristics.

Are you expecting it to install with your office standards? You haven't described anything that cannot already be done with AutoCAD. For help on LTSCALE, PSLTSCALE & MSLTSCALE, ARRAYPATH or creating complex linetypes try AutoCAD help or ask for help in an appropriate forum. Complex linetypes were added with r13 in 1994 with only slight modification since.
