View Full Version : 2015 Revit Panel Schedules not totalling Loads accurately?

Hi all,

Firstly, I am not an electrical engineer – so let’s get that out of the way.

I have a long standing issue with panel schedules in Revit.

I circuit lights and power and am happy with the loads the panel calculates.
The apparent current values come out correct and are reported thru to the three phase columns for totalling and balancing.

However, if I look at the total current it is never correct. It adds up the currents on each phase and gives an seemingly arbitrary difference that comes out above what it should be.

It is clear Revit is inputting some additional factors - does anyone know why panel schedules cannot total loads accurately?

I am using v2015.

Thanks!

There's a power factor associated with each load/load type. You'll need to look at each individual family to see what the default value is.

Revit also calculates demand loads based on the tables in the NEC for different load types, this might be what you're seeing.
