View Full Version : 2013 Pipe & Duct Risers above ceilings showing through ceilings?

This is an issue we are seeing more of since we are linking in a Mechanical Revit Model

I actually found a post on forums.autodesk.com from 2009 that discuses this issue well. I am not happy with their solutions suggested. Kind of hope in 6 years there may have been a better solution.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep/duct-and-pipe-rise-in-reflected-ceiling-plan/td-p/2480552

The suggested solution was:
View Range
Top = just below ceiling
Cut plane = just above floor
Bottom (greyed out = cut plane)
View Depth = cuts or above riser
and to use plan regions for the different ceiling heights...
That is my problem issue... this would add additional complications to the drawings and something that would have to be coordinated every time a ceiling height is changed...

It just makes sense to me that items that are above a solid object (the ceiling) on the reflected ceiling plan should not show?

Anyone have better ideas I am ready to hear them.
Thanks

Seriously, how is there not a solution for this yet?

I think this was recently addressed here:

Turn off the Rise and Drop Category with in pipes and ducts. Then you only see them when they are cut and within the view range.
