File size

The size of a project file just was reduced by recovery save to almost have the size.

I previously saved the file by the way of "save as". In this way, the file size was reduced by a few MB.

But not from 88 to 46 MB.

So I wonder if there was a loss of data (which by a visual check is not the case), or if the recovery save compresses the file somehow?

If so, why then not to have a file save option as this recovery save.

It has been observed that a "saveas" will often reduce a project file size considerably. So too will a recovery event in some cases. While disconcerting it does not appear to have a negative impact on your project. It never has for me. In fact I now routinely "saveas" as I progress to reduce file size and simply remove earlier versions.
