Is there a way in Revit....or possibly a tool available, that allows you to disassociate everything from its work plane?
Picture attached. Basically we build an entire precast model, then start adding voids to cut openings, reveals, recesses, etc... After the massing is "correct", we add all ledges, corbels, and thousands of connection plates on surfaces.
It takes a lot of time to get all the connections and loose erection material in the model and coordinated, so we copy, mirror, etc.... a lot to get everything in there, with no concern as to what work plane each item is on. It really doesn't matter.... they will be made into assemblies.
Once changes start happening after everything is supposedly "complete" (foundations change, stem walls added, panels get taller, etc....) that's were things start to get painful. The results of what moves, and what doesn't... can be very erratic. I have seen it do some very strange things.
See picture. When I select the blue connection plate and pick "Edit Work Plane", the dialog box comes up, but the "Disassociate" button is greyed out? Why? The tool tip even says you can disassociate it from the work plane?
Long story short.... it would be fantastic to be able to disassociate these thousands of voids and connections from the surfaces they were place on. Is this possible? Tool available? Thanks!
