Is there a way to adjust the ends of structural beams so that when the end meet another member, it's flush to the other beam. In other words, the ends need to be adjusted or cut back to be a different angle, not always 90 degrees.

Could you maybe draw a sketch to illustrate your requirements?

Without a whole lot of investigation, doesn't revit already do this with the "Cope" tool?

Worst case scenario, you can create an in-place family of a structural member that is a void. Then Join it to the beam you want to cut back. It will remove the extra materials and give you the angle you desire.

Or if you are discussing the actual roof, use an opening - by face. Draw the shape around the material you want to remove, this can be from a side view of the roof, and then give it the appropriate depth. It should cut the corner the way you need it.

For structural members use Reference Planes and cut tool. You can rotate or manipulate the plane and cut goes with it. Delete the plane and cut is gone.
