We received a Adobe PDF File (created form AutoCAD 2004) from a client and we'd like to print it out on our NEW HP Designjet 800.

When we open the file to plot, the Plotter doesn't appear in the "Printer List" All of our other printers are there, but not the HP 800.

Any suggestions?

We running Windows XP & Adobe Acrobat 5.0

I realize this isn't an AutoCAD problem, I've also placed this message on the HP and Adobe sites, but haven't had any replies so I thought I'd give this a try.

Hi Tom

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD Plotting (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34) Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike

Hi

The HP DesignJet 800 has been installed as a Windows Printer Output Device?

Can you try Adobe Acrobat Reader 7?

Have a good one, Mike

The HP 800 is installed via the network and is plotting all other files without out any problem.

I went and have downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 as suggested. We (there's two of us with the same problem) are still not able to get Adobe to recognize the Hp 800 . . .

I'm also in contact with HP and Adobe, but have not had any replies.

Tom,

A couple suggestions:

1) Go to START - SETTINGS -PRINTERS AND FAXES. Do you see the printer listed? If not, then install the Windows printer driver. This should fix your problem.

If you do see it, you might want to try this program:

Brava! Reader - http://www.bravaviewer.com/downloadreader.htm

2) Install Brava! Reader and try to print with it. It will open the PDF and print with the driver provided by Windows. It's a great program, I use it on a daily basis.
