cutting precast floor planks

Help! I'm using precast hollow core planks on a project. Here and there they have to be cut to fit. I have tried using model-in-place voids with no luck. I tried making the void as a floor, a structural framing and generic model. When I try to cut geometry with the void, I cannot select the plank to cut. The plank is from the Revit library. I did not make it myself. I also tried shaft openings and that didn't work either.

Any suggestions?

Ref plane and opening by face will cut them, and any other beam as well.
