View Full Version : 2015 Can't end a dimension string

Dimension strings in R2015 seem to behave differently. For aligned dims in the past I clicked reference points then slide back onto the string which always ended the dim. Now it breaks up the dim I am over instead of ending it. I can't seem to find what ends the dim. If I continue clicking, it just adds more dims. What am I missing?

can you post a pic of it? i'm not visualizing and i've not had any issues with 2015's dimensions

All dimensions end by clicking in empty space...no other way.

Have to agree with Steve, click out in open space if you click "on" anything else it adds another string. Open space means not on masking zones either, as the end points of masking zones will also be "dimensionable" if thats even a word.

That was it. I was dimensioning on top of a brick pattern on huge precast panels --- not exactly open space!

I thought I knew what you were talking about, Mike, but I can't get it to work any different.
I thought perhaps you meant that the "empty space" for your last click was on the Dimension line itself - between the two Witness lines.
But that works in 2015 just like it does in 14 for me.

You must have something under your last click (Reference Plane?) that Revit is finding & wants to add a Witness Line to.
