How can I import a 3DS Max model into a Revit file (either into a Revit project file, or into a Revit family file, either way) ?
thanks,
Fred.

You can export to DWG then into Revit

Thanks very much, but, as far as I know (am I right ?), the dwg file converts everything into polygons, which are not smooth geometry.
I'm looking for a method to import the Max file into Revit that preserves the very smooth freeform doublecurve Spline Curve and NURBS geometry that are created in Max, and that can then continue to be used as Spline Curves and NURBS in Revit.
thanks,
Fred.

I'm looking for exactly this as well.

Try exporting .SAT file from 3ds max and import to Revit. I should keep smooth surfaces, nurbs etc
