I recently read the Revit license agreement (really!), which I found in the "about Revit" tab. To my surprise, I found this in it:

Licensee may also Install a single additional copy of such Licensed Materials on one (1) additional Computer, on a Stand-alone Basis;

Has anyone out there ever downloaded a home copy of Revit? The license lists a number of conditions, but I qualify for them all. My commute into NYC takes 1 1/2 hours each way. If I could bring work home over the weekend, it would save me a lot of time and money, not to mention my weekends. I looked for a download source, but I couldn't find any online. How would I get Revit onto my machine? I have a pretty powerful machine at home that could easily handle Revit.

I once downloaded the trial version, but it expired. Could this be the way to get it at home if I give it my office serial ###?

Hi Mike.
I just authorized a Home use license for myself a few weeks ago.
I had already downloaded the Install to a hard drive, so I just brought that home.
I think the Trial is a slightly different version, so you may have to download the real one again.
While you're in the process of that, you can check out your Subscription (aka "Account") page to authorize the license.
Here's the instructions:

To request a Home Use license for a network license server:
Sign in to your Autodesk Account at accounts.autodesk.com.
Select Management to view your Products & Services.
Locate the software title under Maintenance Subscription and click the More actions link below the Download button.
Click the Get home use license link under Requests.
Took about a week for me to get my license. Once you've got it, you can enter the Serial Number and Authorization Code on your home machine.

I found it on the autodesk account. I have a standalone license, so according to Autodesk, I only have to download and use my standalone license. I don't need to request "permission"

I keep waiting for that policy to change in the EULA, but it's been consistent for awhile now.
