Beta Testing; Is it worth the effort?

Does anybody in here do it? Is it worth the extra effort? Do you have to be extra careful what you say in here because you do it? I know that you do get to influence the software development and you do get to provide input, but is there benefit which justifies the time you spend doing it, or is it something that benefits autodesk primarily?
