I have a custom millwork entrance door that is detailed to death at large scale on drawings. The project manager doesn't want it to show on the door schedule because it is a separate contract from the HM 3x7 doors that make up 98% of the doors on this job. The "Include in Schedule" checkbox is checked but grayed out in the properties window. I cannot find what controls this parameter so that I can turn it off.
Any ideas on what might be controlling this parameter?

Sounds like a shared parameter has been added to the family but not the project. You need to create a Project Parameter (in the project) using the same Shared Parameter.

That "ungreyed" it, but it didn't take it out it the schedule, so I figured out a work around:
1. I added the "Include in Schedule" parameter to the schedule fields
2. I unchecked this one door
3. I put a filter into the schedule to sift out the unchecked "Include in Schedule"
4. I hid the "Include in Schedule" column
I have what I need. Project goes to the printer in 2 hours:beer:

yep, you still need to add that filter to you schedule.
Unlike the sheet schedules, that Appears in Schedule parameter needs to be used to filter the schedule.
We use that for Door Panels and Frames since they are in the assembly and are shared families.
