Summary: The ability to process text in parameter formulas to create compound designations for objects that include geometric information as part of the designation.

Description: My company manufactures and installs a modular wall system. The nomenclature for our wall panels is a combination of designations for height and width. (Ex.: A1200... "A" represents all the panels of a certain height, and "1200" is the width of the panel in millimeters)

In AutoCAD what we are currently doing to schedule these is I have 3 properties. the first is two are invisible, the last one is a combo of the first two. I want to be able to do the same thing in revit.

So I want to be able to make a parameter that I can schedule and display in a tag that will show say a "type mark" followed by the "wall length" as one text string.

We are cladding specialists, we are considering to put a request for a new system family which accommodates the need for modular claddings and its supports. We have seen how users resolve this situations in so many different ways (never ideal as if you were designing a curtain wall), would you mind to share how are you addressing the modelling issue of a modular wall? Are you using the curtain wall tool?

Yes we use the curtain wall tool currently. our other option would be to make the panels as some sort of generic model and just copy it around, but the curtain wall object works well for us.
