Hello,
Is there a way that I can list all families (system and loadable) in an RVT?
Scheduling only shows the ones that have instances created.
I want to do a cleanup to the company template and I thought that a quick overview of what is actually in it would make it quicker. (it is a template that has been around since I started here).
I know I can also export all families to a folder, but that way I will not have the system families neither the families' categories.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
In the project browser, under families you have a list of all families (including system families) that are loaded into a project.

Hi Maciej,
And would it be possible to extract should list to a text file the same way Project Browser shows it?
Thanks.

It's a bit of a workaround, but you can take a screenshot of the project browser, then save that as a pdf, then do OCR text recognition, then cut and paste that text into your final document. It's a funky process and the final text would need some editing but it would be better than manually typing a list of sheets. Maybe one of the Revit wizards will have a better solution.

Just right-click Families in the project browser and save the famillies to a folder - from there you can get a text file of the contents using the Windows command prompt and "dir /B >families.txt

Hi jagostinho,
As dlister said, you can save it to pdf and use OCR or just copy with OneNote. That's really the easiest and free option.
Alternatively you could build a Dynamo definition using All Family Types of Category (part of the Clockwork package) and save it to an excel file.
The only other way I can think of at this stage is to use BIMLink - but it's relatively quite expensive.
Thorbjorn, the workflow that you've described works well, but it doesn't work for system families and family types.
