Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has an idea why this might be occuring:

We're working on a masterplan and the design of about 6 buildings at once. We have a main site file with just the topography, and individual buildings are linked into there. There's an academic building, a library, a parking garage etc. We use this file to set building locations and publish coordinates to all other files - which works for the most part.

So we have an academic building we want to move - we adjust it in the main site file, save location. Then we open the local academic file. The topography has shifted properly, but the other files (the library, the parking garage) don't update in relation to the academic building. We have to remove and them relink, and they pop in at the right spot. Reloading or closing and reopening the file does not work- only removing and relinking.

Any idea why we have to remove and relink files? Shouldn't it be updating when we reload or reopen the file? Thanks!!

You haven't said specifically if you're using shared coordinates, but I'll assume you are.

When you move the linked building in the site model you publish coordinates back to that file, right? I think that's what you've called 'save location'.

In the academic model are all the other links (not just the site) placed by shared coordinates? It will usually say 'internal' when you look into the links coordinates if they are. That they pop-up in the right location when re-linked sounds like they are placed (defaulting to) 'by origin' (which has no relationship to shared coordinates).

It's quite possible that I've got his all wrong, but I hope you got something anyway.
