I created floor plans to drag into a sheet. On that floor plan I hid the different section view symbols because I do not want them to show up on the sheet.

I need to see these symbols to make adjustments to these sections but I cannot see them on the floor plan at all.

I used the light bulb to show all hidden elements and the section symbol does not show up. I also checked VG and the sections and section boxes are checked.

I cannot figure out what else to do. The sections still exist I just cannot see the symbol in the view I need to see them in.

Any ideas anyone? :???:

Open the 'missing' section from your browser and check ‘hide at scale coarser than’ and 'discipline' parameters in the section view properties.

Thanks for the info most unfortunately that did not work. I may not have been doing what you said correctly.

I tried different scales in the "Hide at Scale Coarser Than" and that did not work and I also tried different disciplines and none of those worked either.

Was I doing this incorrectly?

Match the discipline of the section with the plan view and set ‘hide in scale…’ parameter to match the plan view as well.
I forgot to mention before, make sure ‘phase’ is the same. Also, is the ‘sections’ category turned on in VG for the plan view? If still no avail, take a look in-here (http://www.revitforum.org/tutorials-tips-tricks/441-cant-see-view-heres-33-reasons-maybe-why.html), hope it helps.

did you adjust the height (top or bottom) of the view from the section view itself? if you raised or lowered the view above of your cutplane height or outside of your view range in plan, then it might not show in the floor plan view. try setting your cut plane all the way at the top of your view range to test. if you Need all things set that way, you can make a small Plan Region with a view range or cut plane height that hits your section, this will make it show in your plan

Mike and PijPiwo,

None of the info worked. I am stumped. The sections exist as I can see the symbol on other floor plans, just not the one I need to see them on.

It is just so odd.

I think I will just need to recreate my floor plan. It was a key plan to help the guys see where the section is in the building so it is based off of an existing floor plan (duplicate/detailed) so not all is lost just will take time I did not want to spend.

I appreciate you both trying to help me out.

I hope you have a nice weekend.

What about phasing? Make sure the floor plan matched the phasing of the section.

Sorry about the delay in response. All the phases are the same so that is not the issue.

Another interesting tidbit is that two sections symbols do not show up on ANY of the floor plans at all but the section views themselves do exist.

So weird.

I did a work around on my problems but I am still stumped.

Ain't life grand?!?
