Title: Firm Culture and Multi-Firm, Multidiscipline Revit® Implementation: Bringing about a BIM Revolution
Instructor: Rebecca McWilliams
Course Description: The BIM transition is proving more complex than the CAD transition; we are implementing not only new software but a new way of working. We will present lessons learned from two established multi-office, multidiscipline firms that have successfully implemented this transition while producing award-winning projects of a variety of scales and types. We'll focus on the specific challenges with implementing BIM, case studies on training and continuing support, ways to convince the senior staff to do BIM, standards that minimize the learning curve, the differing needs of designers and production teams, and practical solutions for common challenges. We'll talk about managing and allocating resources in the context of a BIM environment, how to manage the transition, ongoing challenges, opportunities for education, new staff responsibilities and titles, and the role of firm-wide leadership. Installing software is easy, building a BIM culture is the real challenge. We'll show you how to do it.
