I've installed the latest build of Revit 7.
Now, every time I open the program (not a family) I get a popup that says that the file is being upgraded to the latest format and that it won't happen in the future.
I don't think it affects what I'm doing, but I'm curious about why this is happening.

Is it the template that is causing it????

probably, usually that means that your template is saved in an older version of Revit, so every time the program opens it starts a new project with the default template & has to upgrade. Open your template and save & close. That should take care of it.

Try this for a size... (see attachments) I had to "zip" a "bat" file, because "bat" is not allowed here..

A quick note: DO NOT worry about their remark, that the batch is applicable for REVIT version 5.1 and 6.0

It works with every later version too (so far), because the batch and the data files are NOT version specific...

Enjoy,

Jerry.

Does anyone know if these batch files (available from AutoDesk.com at: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?id=3807894&linkID=3770375&siteID=123112) are still applicable when going from Revit 7.0 to Revit 8?

I just upgraded all my libraries utilizing the bat utility. Still seems to work to create version 8 files.

I used it as well...
One thing to look out for: your backup files (*.001.rfa *.002.rfa, etc.) This utility doesn't like backup files. I went through and deleted all of my *###.rfa files and it worked perfectly.
I used the one posted HERE (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=10086&highlight=batch+families)

Hi guys,
only a doubt: when you start the upgrade utility, do you upgrade a copy of the files.....?? i mean they rest also in , for example, the 7.0 libraries still??

Use the 8.0 Revit libraries and upgrade your own custom libraries.
