abstract a section

can i abstract a section to make a profile or use it in make solid ?i notice archicad can do.

Could you be a little more specific? If you mean fill in the walls of the section with a solid color then yes.

no.i mean using the section to make other solid component .

Yes. Not sure why you would want to do that tho.

Create a shallow section wiith only the objects you want for the "profile". Coarse level of detailn should do. Export that to DWG. Import that into either family editor or as a sketch of an inplace family. Trace or cleanup the linework as desired.

Just create the solid, go to the section you want to use, draw the lines using the section and there you go...do it all the time....
