Course Description: Roundabouts are growing at a fast rate both in North America and throughout the rest of the world. Roundabouts have proven benefits. Compared to normal intersections, they are typically safer, and they function better from an environmental and operational perspective. This class is a must for the AEC professional challenged by or seeking more advanced insight into roundabout design. Through design examples, you will learn what key factors contribute toward good roundabout design layouts that control vehicle speeds, accommodation of design vehicles, pedestrians, and other road users, sightline requirements and so on. We will also present an overview of several roundabout CAD tools, including the AutoCAD® Civil 3D roundabout tool.
