I have 2 zone in my project. One where do i work, one where i dont. I want to graphically represent those 2 zones with transparent rectangle so i can see under them. I thought of decal, color fill.
Any better idea ?

You might try an area plan. We have used them for this purpose ourselves.

A transparent hatch pattern works well.

You can create a filled region (drafting) and use or create a fill that has a transparent setting.

Filled region - Properties - Backgrounds can be set either Opaque or Transparent.

Can set the fill pattern to solid fill then, so i have to use another fill pattern like diagonal crosshatch.

Hey there,

I have used filled regions to do this; however, I have not been able to get the 'solid' fill to be transparent. I can with line fills, but for some reason, solid color fills are not transparent even when you check that parameter. Hmmmm. Bye the way Daniel, to answer further:
When you select Drafting>Filled Region, you will be in sketch mode. Pick or draw your purple lines to show the outline of your filled region, similar to doing any plan view based sketch, like floors and roofs.

Good luck
Steve

Its true that you can't make a solid fill transparent.

What I have done in the past was to make a very thin floor of coloured material.

I'll also used massing to do much the same thing ( coloured areas for presentation / analysis ), although that isn't as good as a floor if you want furniture and suchlike to be visible.

It works well, but it is a workaround of course.
