I am trying to rotate a shake hatch pattern 180 deg with no luck. It is now upside down for some reason. I have tried to click on the elevation wall and rotate the whole thing, but it doesn't work. Any other solutions available? I'v tried looking through other posts and found nothing more than the previous try.

See if this (http://www.zoogdesign.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1141&highlight=model+pattern) helps.

The hatch is already made and has been used before. This time when I used it ,it is showing the pattern as being rotated 180 deg to upside down.

You can rotate any surface pattern by "pre-highlighing" a line within the pattern, select ROTATE from the toolbar and then type in the desired angle in the options bar.

I'm not sure why they come in upside down at times...

I tried tried both entering the numerical and also the mouse drag rotate and it is still inverted.

Could you post an image of the problem?

OK here is a sample wall that is not acting correctly. I don't know how much you can do with this but the revit file was 9+ MB...too big to post.

I know its a workaround rather than a solution, but could you simply paint the affected surfaces or are they too numerous?

Great Idea, but, just tried it and still showing it upside down...maybe some sort of falt in wall family? I'm at a loss!

Draughting fill patterns cannot rotate. Reload the fill pattern as a model pattern. to check whether the .Pat file in question will work as a model pattern open it in notepad. Under the description of the fill pattern should read the following
;%type=model
That way it will load as a model pattern. Only model fill patterns applied as surface fills can be rotated. Sorted

It is/was already loaded as a model pattern in the .pat file.

We are experiencing the same problem with a wall that was created as an in-place family. I cannot align or rotate the surface pattern applied to the family.
IS your wall a Revit system family or could you be having the same problem.

Has anyone else noticed this ?

Aaahhh. If the wall has been created as an in place family, you have to select the wall, then select edit family. then only can you rotate the hatch. then select finish family. Sorted

Thought you had it then ShaunV !
tried whilst in edit family mode and aligned the hatch and also can rotate the hatch.
But when I finish family it 'resets' itslef back to its original.
???? - Strange

Does this not happen to you ?

Actually, the wall I am working with is a modified existing wall. I believe I used a wood stud wall with siding and changed the siding hatch to shakes. At least that is what I think I did.
