View Full Version : 2015 schedule "group headings" button greyed out
I'm trying to group my door hardware under one heading. if I select all the columns I want, the button s greyed out. In fact no matter what I select its grey. Am I missing something? Ive done it before with other columns in this same schedule.:banghead:

Did you try this?

OK--
As a quick test, try creating a new schedule and see if it works. If so, there is something wrong with the 1st one. If the new one is also greyed out, then we need to keep digging............
cant do it on a new one either :(

OK--
As another quick test:
Create a new Project.
Add some walls and doors.
Create a door schedule.
Try grouping headers. Does it work? If so, it's something in your "real" project.
If not, it something about schedules in your Revit sessions. Perhaps a View Template applied to your Schedule?
I tried a new project from our company template and one from a construction template. Both wont do it.

See if there is a View Template applied to the Schedules. If so, in the Properties of the Schedule (view ) , select None for View Template. Can you group the headers now?

It sounds to me like Revit is working as it should and something is wrong with the workflow you're using. Can you post a video of what you're clicking on and in which order? I've found that grouping headers is not a very intuitive process.
months ago I had exported our door schedule so you can reinsert it. I edited it there, then imported and was unable to edit. I think it was because I had applied a filter to the schedule to filter out toilet partitions and cased openings.
thanks for your help.
