Gyrating sketches

When you create a sketch on a pre-existing part, having already positioned the part where you want it, the part usually flips over 180 degrees and spins around to some unwanted angle. This is nothing new but is getting to be very annoying. Is there any way to turn this function off.

There is a setting in application options for minimum rotation on sketch creation or edit. It is either on the Sketch Tab or the Display Tab, can't remember off the top of my head. It would basically turn it the least amount instead of always looking at the normal side of a plane regardless of orientation.

Found it. It's under Application options/sketch. "look at sketch plane on sketch creation".
