We have a project with some renovation work on one of our previous projects. I figured I would use the old Revit file (or rather, a copy with various as-built changes) for the overall building. But I can't seem to find a way to indicate that the "New Construction" phase/elements in the linked file are equal to the "Existing" phase/elements in the host file.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Phase mapping.
Select the linked file in the host project.
Open Type Properties and select Phase Mapping to open the dialogue box to assign phases in the link to phases in the host.102381

The weird thing about Phase Mapping is that Revit won't let you remap the last Phase in the Link to anything.
To get around, this, we often add a "Future" Phase to the old project.
I've always felt that the Mapping is backwards.
Don't you want to Map phases FROM the Link TO a Phase in the parent and not the other way around?

Yeah I had to add a "Renovation" phase to the old project file to make it work.
