Hello All
I have been struggling for a while to create a frosted glass material with a pattern on it.

1. If you use the 'Frosted Glass' Appearance Asset, there is no option to put an image (apart from the Relief which does not do here). The glass looks good, but the pattern is missing.

2. If you create a new material based on Wired Glass Appearance Asset, add a jpg file for the pattern, then there is no roughness parameter for the material and I can't get the transparency to fade as it should in real life. So there is a pattern but no frosted glass effect.

Any ideas?

What I will need then will be to make the hatch for this to be visible in Hidden Lines style.... probably I should use any hatch generator. Any Idea for that maybe too?

I will be really grateful for help.

Regards
Olga

Olga - How about using two panes of glass sandwiched together, one of which is frosted glass and the other is clear glass with the pattern on it? From the frosted side, you would see the pattern dimly through the frosted glass; from the pattern side you would see the pattern strongly and the frosted glass through the non-image parts of the pattern -- just as things would appear in the real world. Without knowing exactly the effect you are looking for, perhaps using the pattern as a cutout instead of as an image would do what you want.
