Summary: Would like to have 2x, 3x, 4x resolution options in Ray Trace visual style
Description: There are a bunch of rendering options in Revit 2016 -- the Ray Trace visual style, Render on the desktop with nVidia and Autodesk Raytracer options, and Render in the cloud with Advanced and Native options -- but they all render a scene differently! So differently that for any kind of careful work the wonderfully quick Ray Trace visual style cannot be used as a preview for any of the others, which makes it kind of useless: limited to screen resolution *and* not predictive of the higher-resolution options.
But... many times I have found that the Ray Trace rendering has exactly the look I want, and save that for my final image -- a full-screen image captured from a 25" screen looks fine on 8 1/2" x 11". But how great it would be to have the option of setting one of the Ray Trace visual style options to render the scene at some multiple of the current screen resolution, so even larger prints could be made at an acceptable resolution.
And while we're at it, it would be great to be able to save such a rendering directly to a file on disk rather than to the Renderings section of the project browser, where it just bulks up the size of the .RVT file.
Also, there should be a "Rendering" or "Visualization" option on the Associated Feature list on the Wish List page.
I'd better stop.
