Hi Everyone, I am currently studying Architecture and started using Revit. For my building project, I need to check whether my design meets the California building code. I know you can do it in excel manually but it takes so long, does anyone know any short cuts I could use?

Are you talking about Title 24?

There was an effort by the ICC to create an automated code check program, but it lost funding back in '08: http://www.digitalalchemypro.com/html/services/SmartCodes.html

If you're talking about the energy code portion, which people often refer to as "Title 24", even though Title 24 is the full building code.

Here are some open source software developed by the state for energy calculations:

Non-Res / Commercial: http://bees.archenergy.com/software.html

Hi guys,

Thanks for your response. I actually found a plug-in for Revit which allowed me to check if my design met the California building code. It worked quite like I wanted to. If you guys want to check it out yourself, I found it at the autodesk app store. It's called 'Spatial Requirements Assistant' and it's published by Vabi. Thanks again for your help.
