Change point cloud density?

I imported a point cloud file into Revit 2014 so I could trace over it. The point cloud is a scan of a 160' x 200' building, so it's enormous.

I managed to make some sections and import views onto sheets, but now every time I try to adjust a view, Revit crashes. Even trying to crop a section view makes Revit crash. I suspect this is because the point cloud is either a. so large or b. too dense. Does anyone know I can reduce the density of the point cloud or another way to work around this?

Use ReCap to crop out and delete any points you don't need to optimize for import to Revit, you can also change density there. In ReCap you can also break up different sections of the cloud to layers, so you can only have certain parts on in Revit while you work.
